Profile

Created in 1989 by the local French government of Saint-Pierre & Miquelon, SODEPAR is a semi-public company with headquarters in St. Pierre and an office in Paris. SODEPAR sits in a number of committees, either in a decision-making or a consulting capacity:

• France-Canada joint committee
• SPM aquaculture advisory board
• SPM agriculture advisory board
• SPM professional training advisory board
• European Overseas Countries and Territories Association (OCTA) executive committee
• French delegation at NAFO
• French delegation at ICCATT

SODEPAR Activities include but are not limited to:

• Contracting for construction and civil engineering projects (airport, hospital, water treatment,…) and facilities management
• Interface between the local business community or foreign investors and the local government
• Seminars, press conferences, promotional events, and trade shows
• Implementation of European development tools such as the transshipment system, and provisions to the rule of origin.
• Representing the local government of St. Pierre and Miquelon at official meetings between the European Commission, member states, and European overseas territories and countries
